I'm an Aspie and I was homeschooled until I reached high school. For me it was nice to be someplace familiar and comfortable because I had trouble with the number of students and other people that I would have had to deal with. There is a drawback for any person who is homeschooled, which is that, even as someone on the spectrum, the home taught child needs some sort of interaction with others. Isolation is a bad idea for anyone but it becomes worse for an Aspie or Autist. We need the interaction so that we can learn to see another persons emotional needs or wants. It does take longer for us to learn such things, but a high functioning person on the spectrum will eventually learn if given the opportunity.
